A breathtaking view of the Schoharie Valley opens up in dramatic fashion from the Clauverwie Road

Schoharie County is home to gorgeous valleys and rolling hills that are both scenic and inspiring all year round.  Whether you are on one of the county’s many pretty country roads or passing through one of its charming villages, all journeys lead to a rendezvous with history.   The county’s colonial development as a major grain supplier to the Continental Army  and its geo-political importance during the American Revolution made it a frequent target for British-allied forces.  The story of America is, indeed, a vibrant part of Schoharie County’s history.  The skirmishes, battles, forts, raids, and other thrilling events are scattered from one end of the county to another.  So, too, is the natural history that is so vividly on display around every bend in the road.  It is little wonder the area attracted significant native occupation for millenia before the first Europeans stepped foot anywhere near the Schoharie Creek.  There is so much to see and so much to absorb!

The blending of spectacular scenery and eventful history lies at the heart of what makes Schoharie County and surrounding region special.  Here, the journey is the destination.  Let us help you have the ultimate experience on your visit to the area.  Take a private guided driving tour!
